I’m so excited to officially unveil the cover of AUDITION & SUBTRACTION today.
Covers are a big deal and I didn’t want this occasion to go by without a little fanfare. So I got in touch with one of my favorite bloggers in the world: Maria Cari Soto of Cariblogs. Forget a “little” fanfare. Cari is not only hosting my cover reveal, but also brought in some other fab folk to do the same. THANK YOU to Cari and to Jenn, Steph, Katie, Yara, Kristina, Jen, Christin, Kate and Kelly.
So this is it, with the final color palate. (If you’re still seeing versions on my site with a green background, [and you shouldn't] that was another option that didn’t fly.):
I think the cover captures the heart of the story. Tatum (that’s her on the right with the clarinet) is best friends with Lori. (Flute player on the left.) Life is good for these two until Michael transfers in to their middle school. And now look — there he is, right between the two of them. (Just like a guy to mess everything up.) 
There’s a lot at stake: Friendship, romance, a spot in District Honor Band…not to mention future happiness, dreams, world peace… (OK–maybe getting a little carried away here.) For the flap copy–read below.

LOVE it! And not just because I played clarinet in jr high. In fact, I switched to bass clarinet in 8th grade so I could sit next to my crush who also played the bass clarinet. He and I are still friends today
