Day 11, Tip 11:

One of the reasons teen dating abuse has become such a huge problem is because most girls never tell anyone. Not only that, but 4 out of 5 girls continue to date their abusers.

Here are some reasons why:

•They’re afraid parents will make them break up
•They’re embarrassed or ashamed
•They’re afraid of getting hurt by their partner
•They’re convinced that it’s their fault
•They’re afraid their parents will blame them or be disappointed
•They’re confused—they’re not sure what they’re experiencing is wrong

Do you know someone who is in an abusive relationship? Is this something you’re struggling with right now? For more information, visit www.loveisrespect.org.
