Well, here it is. Day 28 of 28 Days to mark National Teen Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

When I got the idea of posting 28 blogs for 28 days, I knew it would be tough. I generally write 5 blog posts a year. It seems that I need at least two months to recover after writing one, so how was I going to pull this off?

Well, I did. In some ways, it was almost too easy. There are just too many examples of abuse out there. Too many articles and quotes and stories for teens who have been victims, for teens who are victims, for teens who don’t even realize they’re victims because culture can sometimes make dying for love seem romantic.

It isn’t. It’s horrific.

I’m finishing the month off with a quote from Die for You along with a necklace I created in honor of the story in the book, and the message that still needs repeating.

And remembering.

Thanks for following along!

Books can make it easier to broach the topic. There are a lot of stories about relationship abuse that can get your teen thinking…questioning. Die for You is just one. I hope it can make a difference in the life of someone you love.

“This taut thriller unrolls hidden messages of abusive relationships with a sharp edge and well-drawn gray areas, leaving readers on the edge of their seats.” — Booklist
